With some drastic changes people are facing, we are still able to find many uplifting moments from people in the Coachella Valley. Many are remaining positive and trying to spread that positivity around.
Chris Lomeli is a singer and entertainer, he took time on Sunday visiting twenty-two houses to sing in front of people's homes. Lomeli said he is, “Just try to throw something positive out there all the time.” He feels fortunate to be able to make a life with his music and wants to spread it around to help the community during these times.
Escape Room Palm Springs is also taking advantage of this time to work on some new puzzles! In a tweet, they said, “There's a lot of stuff that we've wanted to do and haven't had the time... now that's all we have!”
Alexander Raei is the owner and chef of La Bonita’s Mexican Restaurant in Palm Springs. Even though they are now only open for to-go orders he is giving free meals to the homeless. Raei said, “If I can help somebody it’s good. Doing what God told me to do.”
One group of neighbors had a fun new kind of happy hour! They all gathered outside their homes, sat in chairs, and spent time together, at a distance!
Many are missing being able to hit the gyms but one couple said, “No gym, no problem.” They’re using the outdoors as their gym! While practicing social distancing, they also brought their dog out on a hike with them. In a Facebook post, they said, “Get some fresh air each day to keep your spirits high. What a fantastic part of the country we get to call home.”
Many on social media simply sharing beautiful pictures across the Coachella Valley to keep attitudes positive.
