DAP Health receives $1 million in state funding

DAP Health received a $1 million appropriation from Governor Gavin Newsom's 2023-2024 state budget.

David Brinkman, the CEO of DAP Health, says the money will be used to expand the nonprofit's Sunrise campus in Palm Springs and address the growing medical workforce shortage.

“This very generous funding from the state of California will help us grow our Palm Springs campus. So it becomes the center of excellence for training medical professionals for all 25 of our medical sites from the Salton Sea to San Diego," said Brinkman.

The check was presented to DAP Health by Assemblymember Eduardo Garcia (D-Coachella) and Assemblymember Greg Wallis (R- Bermuda Dunes) who came together to secure the appropriation.

“It's about health care and addressing a need in our region. I think that's what motivates us to work in the best interests of our constituents. DAP Health will now be serving the entire Coachella Valley. That doesn't recognize a district boundary or a political party affiliation, and recognizes a healthcare need," said Assemblymember Garcia.

“I met with David [Brinkman, CEO of DAP Health] , and I asked how our office and how the state could best help invest right here in the Coachella Valley. So I got together Assemblymember Eduardo Garcia and said, "You know what, this is a bipartisan effort on how we can really deliver real results for the Coachella Valley,"" said Assemblymember Wallis.
