Today was another day above normal for the Coachella Valley. Temperatures remained in the 70's due to a ridge of high pressure. This ridge of high pressure will move out as a trough of low pressure approaches going into Saturday.

This trough of low pressure will bring cooler air and areas of gusty winds to the region. Heading closer to the coast, this trough could allow for some light showers late Saturday afternoon through the evening.

Gusty winds will arrive Saturday afternoon through the overnight hours into Sunday. A Wind Advisory has been issued for the desert and mountains. Winds will be westerly 15-25 mph with gusts to 45 mph. For areas through mountain passes and along the desert facing slopes, winds could reach gusts near 65 mph. The strongest winds will be expected on Saturday evening. These gusty winds could blow around unsecured objects. Make sure your Christmas decorations are secure! Tree limbs could also be blown down with a few power outages as a result.

Temperatures will continue to cool through the weekend.
