Cooler heading into the new week, small chance for showers this afternoon

THOUSAND PALMS, Calif. (KESQ) — Drier conditions are expected as moisture holds farther east, but still is making its impacts felt in the Valley

Hurricanes continue to develop off the coast of Baja California, bringing cloud cover to the Valley. Though there is a chance for showers this afternoon, the chances are very small, and rain should not be a concern when preparing for today. If we do see rain, currently it looks like it will be in the late morning or early afternoon today.

We continue to track the potential landfall of Hurricane Polo Monday morning. If it does, it is expected to be a Category 1 or 2 hurricane.

Today and Monday will bring the coolest temperatures of the week, in the mid- to low 90s. Slight warming starts Tuesday and holds through next weekend.
