Temperatures remain above seasonal averages

THOUSAND PALMS, Calif. (KESQ) — Fall is in full swing, but temperatures continue to hang on to late-summer conditions. Our high of 101 degrees today in Thousand Palms is slightly above the seasonal average of 95 degrees.

The wind advisory from yesterday expired and is no longer a concern, but the extreme heat warning issued by the NWS west of the mountains is still in effect until Thursday at 8 p.m. There’s no reason to leave the valley this week in search of cooler temperatures!

The area of high pressure continues to be the driver of warmer temperatures in California as it remains anchored along the Utah-Arizona border.

Above-average highs will continue through this week, reaching 10 or more degrees above average as soon as Wednesday or Thursday.
