Rain and snow soon to arrive in Riverside county

Rain Impact

It's going to be a wet start to Thursday as the second storm system of the week moves across the Southland. Rain and showers will be a big part of tomorrow's forecast all around the Coachella Valley.

This system will be bringing plenty of moisture to Southern California and is capable of producing more than 1" of rain for parts of the desert.

A Flash Flood Watch goes into effect at 2:00 a.m. for the High Desert for persistent and moderate rainfall. Conditions may become favorable for flooding of washes and other drainage areas in the watch area.

A Winter Storm Warning goes into effect at 4:00 a.m. Thursday for local mountains. Travel will be difficult, especially in the morning hours. More than 1' of snow is possible for the higher elevations.

Thursday will be a wet day but drying and clearing will take place throughout Friday creating a spectacular setup for the weekend ahead.
