Warmer and drier through the weekend

Yesterday was a big day in weather for the region. Snow in the mountains and high desert and a lot of rain here on the valley floor. The high temperature in Palm Springs was 53° which was hit around 9 p.m. The most of the day remained in the upper 40's. Here's a look at some rain totals over the past 24 hours as of 7:30 p.m. yesterday evening.

The area of pressure that was with us yesterday bringing moderate to heavy rainfall and snow for the mountains and high desert is off to the east this morning. This will allow for our region to slightly warm and remain dry.

Today will be slightly warmer and much drier than yesterday. The rest of the weekend looks to remain still below average but with plenty of sunshine. There will be another chance for rainfall heading into Monday as another area of low pressure moves in from the north Sunday night into Monday. This system doesn't look like it will have as abundant of moisture as this previous one but could still drop some moderate rainfall to the region. We will continue to closely monitor this system as it moves into the region.

For now, enjoy the sunshine and slightly warmer temperatures! Happy weekend!
