The Heat Returns to Our Valley Today

Low pressure is moving out, high pressure is moving in, and we're expecting a major warm up as all that happens.

This broad blocking ridge of high pressure will push temps in the middle nineties this afternoon, and hotter thereafter.

With triple digits back in the forecast, we'll be close to records, but just shy of them through the weekend. Take the usual precautions to avoid heat related illness. Plenty of water and other hydrating fluids (avoid alcohol if planning to be outdoors). Limit exposure and strenuous activities until you feel more acclimated to the heat. It will be with us for a while before retreating.
