Humidity sparks thunderstorms today

A Flood Watch has been posted for the mountains of Riverside, San Bernardino and San Diego counties, as storms pop up around the region.

The humidity is quite high, as dew points indicate, and that means the potential for thunderstorms particularly in the mountains and high deserts.

The chance of thunderstorms looms for the area today and tomorrow, with humidity staying with us much of the week.

Highs will remain below seasonal averages (109) thanks to the monsoon moisture, but the discomfort level will be high. Cooling centers are open throughout the Valley if you are in need of one.
