Mild today with a chance of rain tomorrow

Expect a sunny and warm day, with highs in the lower 70s, but a storm is approaching that promises some light to moderate showers for New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.

The storm off the coast will bring some showers by midday tomorrow, with more intense rainfall overnight into Thursday.

Rainfall totals are expected to be lighter than we saw over the Christmas Holiday.

Best chance of showers will be after 7 p.m. Wednesday up to Noon on New Year's Day.

The atmosphere dries out a bit heading into the weekend as we kick-off the Palm Springs International Film Festival.
