Staying breezy outside of the valley with warming trend on the way
THOUSAND PALMS, Calif. (KESQ) – It's another crisp morning as we stay cool, dry, and occasionally breezy with lingering Santa Ana winds.

Winds remain on the milder side for most of us on the valley floor, but we're still eyeing spots like the San Gorgonio Pass, Desert Hot Springs, and our local mountains for areas with more elevated winds. Expect gusts in the realm of 30-40 MPH in those areas for most of your Sunday. Similar conditions are expected for Monday, too.

These offshore winds are likely to stick with Southern California for the remainder of the week, albeit weaker than the past few days.
A High Wind Warning for the Desert Hot Springs area is set to expire at 1:00 p.m. this afternoon, but a Wind Advisory will immediately take effect and last through Monday at 2:00 p.m. This Advisory was also extended through our local mountain communities and the Pass.

Highs today should be warmer than yesterday, likely in the low 70s. We'll continue to warm up through the week. This will mark the first batch of above-normal weather so far this month (and this year, for that matter). Expect consistently dry, sunny weather with the occasional breeze.
