Extreme heat and humidity continue

THOUSAND PALMS, Calif. (KESQ) – Prepare yourself for a full week of extreme heat! The National Weather Service extended our Extreme Heat Warning all the way through Friday of next week. We'll be seeing locally major to extreme HeatRisk during this time.

It's a big night for high school football! Most games are set to kick off around 7 o'clock this evening, and it still looks toasty. Improvements come later in the evening as games wrap up around 9 or 10 o'clock – we'll be closer to that 100° mark or below.

Humidity is making conditions feel extra uncomfortable. We'll continue to see dew point temperatures in the upper 50s and low 60s tonight.

We see some moisture improvements tomorrow on our FutureTrack models. We could drop into the mid-40s by the afternoon, but it will still likely feel noticeably humid.

Hotter temperatures are expected Saturday as we see those slightly drier conditions.

The week ahead looks pretty consistent. Only minor temperature changes are expected day-to-day. Do your best to stay cool as we stay above the 110°F mark!
