Below seasonal averages for labor day weekend, small shower chances Sunday morning

THOUSAND PALMS, Calif. (KESQ) — Hurricane Marie continues to develop southwest of the California coast. While we will not see it move toward us, we will feel moisture from the tropical system and have a slight chance for showers from it.

The shower chances are for early Sunday morning and linger into the afternoon for mountain regions.

In terms of temperatures for the Valley, highs will be below seasonal averages for this time of year, reaching right around the century mark.

Lower temperatures, alongside dew points below 50 degrees, will provide comfortable conditions for this Labor Day weekend. Make sure to take advantage of it!

An early look at next week shows temperatures climbing slightly into Wednesday. However, models show the peak for the week being 106 degrees — relief from the 110s we have seen in recent times.
