Above average temps through the weekend

Highs hit 100 degrees yesterday, some 4 degrees above our seasonal norm. Today will be practically identical.

Highs to our West will soar well above normal, pushing close to record territory through the weekend and into next week; so much so that an Extreme Heat Warning is up through next week for coastal and inland areas of SoCal. A Wind Advisory is also in place for the pass area and San Diego mountains through tomorrow evening at 6 p.m.

The broad ridge of high pressure will remain in place throughout the weekend and well into next week, so temps will remain elevated as a result.

In fact, next week we're looking at daytime highs nearly 10 degrees above our seasonal norms.
