‘The Block Bar and Grill’ reopened

‘The Block Bar & Grill’ is back open after being issued a new business license.

Chris Parman, communication & events manager for the city, confirmed the news Thursday.

According to Parman, the owner received a new business license Thursday after a two-week process of inspections and meeting all the requirements on the city’s checklist.

The bar was closed after it was discovered that its business license expired in April.

The bar has faced several controversies in the past year, in late July a man was shot two times inside the bar. Four suspects were arrested in connection with the shooting on July 28 at a Beaumont gas station.

This past March, two men were shot in the bar’s parking lot, and in June 2016, three men attacked a man outside the bar, leaving him in a coma. The victim later died, the three men pleaded not guilty to murder charges a year later.
