Woman arrested after bicyclists hit
A woman is behind bars, after allegedly crashing into two bicyclists in Rancho Mirage.
Riverside County Sheriff’s deputies said 71-year-old Linda Jean Brechtel hit two bicyclists Friday night on Bob Hope Drive near Rancho Las Palmas. Both bicyclists were injured in the collision.
Paramedics responded to the scene and transported one bicyclist to a local hospital for further evaluation. The bicyclist was treated for non life threatening injuries and released.
Deputies arrested and booked Brechtel at the Riverside County Jail in Indio on suspicion of driving under the influence.
