Wildland fire contained in Desert Hot Springs

Cal Fire contained a wildland fire that broke out Thursday morning in Desert Hot Springs.

The call came in shortly before 11 a.m. at 20th Avenue and Palm Drive.

The fire grew to 1 acre and spread with moderate speed, burning some trees and bushes in the area.

Cal Fire assigned 22 firefighters, 6 engine companies and a helicopter.

The fire was contained shortly before 1:30 p.m. and firefighters will remain on scene for approximately six hours performing mop up.

There were no injuries reported.
