Lisa Houston steps down as CEO of FIND Food Bank
Lisa Houston announced Friday that she will be stepping down from her role as President and CEO of the FIND Food Bank and will take on the role of COO at Desert Healthcare District on Jan. 3, 2018.
Houston joined FIND Food Bank in November 2009 and has helped feed the hungry in the Coachella Valley while at the same time educating the public about the growing problem of food insecurity in our desert.
“It is incredibly important to me that I leave FIND in a position of strength, and in that regard, I truly believe the food bank has never been stronger. We have an extraordinarily capable and experienced management team, an amazing staff, and a solid and knowledgeable Board. FIND Food Bank is in good financial health, we have processes and continuation plans in place, and we have a dynamic strategic plan to guide the food bank’s long-term vision,” said Houston.
“Ms. Houston’s dedication and commitment to the entire Coachella Valley community is well recognized and respected,” said Desert Healthcare District and Foundation Board President Carole Rogers. “Her leadership and partnership on food insecurity programming has benefited more than a hundred local partner organizations and more than 85,000 residents across the District and the entire Coachella Valley. The Board welcomes her wholeheartedly to the Desert Healthcare District and Foundation.”
Desert Healthcare District and Foundation is one the largest funders in the Coachella Valley and the organization focuses on providing resources for residents in need.
“It is this understanding that drives me to take on this new challenge with the Desert Healthcare District and embrace the opportunity to serve an even larger population, including those experiencing food insecurity amidst a host of other challenges,” Houston said.
