Props and Hops Craft Beer Festival sees record sales

It was a record-breaking day for the sixth annual Props and Hops Craft Beer Festival at the Palm Springs Air Museum.

On Saturday, attendees enjoyed a beer tasting from breweries across the state, live music, delicious food and fly-overs by vintage aircraft. The event is one of the museum’s biggest fundraisers.

“This brings in a crowd that might not otherwise come to an airshow or an air museum, and they get to see all these vintage airplanes fly,” said Fred Bell, vice president of the Palm Springs Air Museum. “So they get to do what they like to do, and hopefully we expose them to the airplanes as well.”

The museum is staffed by 10 people and runs with the help of more than 300 volunteers. It operates on a multi-million dollar budget, but relies heavily on fundraising events to keep their planes flying. Hall said they had their highest ticket sales ever on Saturday.
