Wash closed at Cathedral Canyon due to flooding

Rain has been falling across the valley since early Thursday morning. Most roads remain open, but in Cathedral City you will need to steer clear of Cathedral Canyon at the wash. Cathedral City closed the roadway just before 1:00 pm due to flooding.

According to the Cathedral City Police Department, the road will be reassessed at 6 a.m. Friday.

Even though most of the roadways remain open at this hour, several areas have experienced some flooding and there are lane closures in some areas. We have also received reports of several intersections, especially in the Palm Springs area of lights out at intersections.

Police warn drivers to slow down and remain on alert as they navigate the wet roads. Be sure to tune in tonight on KESQ at 5:00 for the very latest on all valley road closures.
