Yucca Valley girls basketball having perfect league season led by record-breaking junior

Yucca Valley is head and shoulders the best girls basketball team in the Desert Valley League this season.

The Lady Trojans are unbeaten and unbothered, having won every league game by double-digits.

Senior star Malia Ulery is averaging 21 points, 11 rebounds and 6 assists a game.

But it's the play of their junior standout Cadence Tarrant that has really led the Lady Trojans.

Simply put, Tarrant has been unstoppable.

She's averaging 23 points and 15 rebounds on the season, which includes a record-breaking performance against rival Twentynine Palms when Tarrant scored 42 points and had 30 rebounds.

"They both compliment each other with their style of play and work ethic. They really do everything for us,” said head coach Jess Geeson, referring to the 1-2 punch of Ulery and Tarrant.

Through 10 games this DVL season, the Lady Trojans are a perfect 10-0. Overall, YV is 18-5.
