Motorcyclist taken to hospital after crashing into a tree in Indio

Indio Police Department confirmed a motorcycle crash that happened Sunday evening on Highway 111 and Madison Street.

The crash was reported before 7 p.m. Investigators are trying to determine why the rider crashed into a palm tree.

First responders rushed the person to the hospital and there is no word yet on their condition.

Traffic was diverted as crews worked to clear the scene and it has since been cleared up.
