Banning Police investigating deadly shooting
The Banning Police Department is investigating a shooting that took the life of a male over the weekend.
Police received several reports of shots fired in the area of 4th Street and Wilson Street on Friday at approximately 8:57 p.m.
When officers arrived, they contacted several young adults in the 400
block of W. Wilson Street who had been trying to get the male victim help. Officers were able to confirm that the man had been shot.
An investigation by the Banning Police Department Detective Bureau later revealed that the victim had been shot by a subject on a bicycle following a brief conversation.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim's identity will not be publicly released until after next of kin is notified.
