A storm packing winds over 80 mph derails a train in a small Oklahoma town

FAIRMONT, Okla. (AP) — A storm packing winds over 80 mph have blown through northern Oklahoma, derailing a train, bringing down trees and pushing planes around at an Air Force base. BNSF Railway has told The Associated Press that 29 rail cars derailed during the storm early Friday near the town of Fairmont. BNSF says it has crews on site repairing the damage. The train operator says no one was injured and that no hazardous materials were involved. Fairmont, with a population of just over 100, is near Enid, about 90 miles north of Oklahoma City. A spokeswoman for Vance Air Force Base in Enid told the Enid News & Eagle that trees were down there and that planes had been pushed around.
