Heatwave moves in for the weekend

Highs are beginning to warm quickly as we head into the weekend, with an Excessive Heat Warning put into place for Saturday and Sunday.

This the result of expanding high pressure over the Desert Southwest that will culminate with highs near 110 for both Saturday and Sunday.

Today we'll feel a modest increase with temps reaching 104 by mid-afternoon.

The mercury continues to climb from there, then after a toasty weekend, the numbers drop back to near or below normal levels.
