Warm and breezy this morning, windier by this evening

The weakening Tropical Storm Jova is continuing to push moisture into our region which has increased cloud cover today. This will allow temperatures to drop slightly but dew points will remain in the mid to upper 50s which is likely to make conditions feel warmer.

We could see light rain on the valley floor due to this additional moisture. Thunderstorm activity is more likely for Riverside and San Bernardino County mountains.

An Excessive Heat Warning remains in place for the valley until 8 p.m. tonight. A High Surf Advisory will also remain for areas along the Orange County and Los Angeles coasts until 10 p.m. Monday.

Winds will remain breezy Sunday morning which will aid in the cool down. This evening's stronger winds are likely to lift more dust and sand into the air.

The South Coast AQMD issued an Air Quality Alert due to the likelihood of poor air quality and low visibility on the roads through Monday morning.

A cooling trend will continue through the upcoming work week with highs in the low 100s and overnight lows in the mid to upper 70s.
