CONCORD, N.H. (AP) — The first candidate has filed to be on the New Hampshire presidential primary ballot, using $2 bills to pay the fee. Mark Stewart Greenstein arrived at New Hampshire’s Statehouse at 6:30 a.m. Wednesday. The Democrat from West Hartford, Connecticut, paid his $1,000 filing fee in cash, including $400 in $2 bills. Greenstein says there should be a way for Democrats to express they don’t like party front-runner President Joe Biden. This year there are big changes to other states’ nominating calendars. New Hampshire’s new elections chief is carrying on the tradition of ensuring his state remains first, waiting for the dust to settle in other states before scheduling the 2024 contest. New Hampshire’s filing period ends Oct. 27.
