YouTube star Mark Rober discusses teaching candy thieves a lesson on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’

Does it ever annoy you that on Halloween there are some people who steal entire bowls of candy? Well, a NASA engineer turned YouTube star decided to do something about it.

Mark Rober's videos often get tens of millions of views.

In his latest video, which will make its debut tonight on Jimmy Kimmel Live here on News Channel 3, Rober came up with a variety of creative ways to teach candy thieves a lesson.

That includes fake breaking news, where the thieves see themselves on TV.

Rober is the cousin of News Channel 3's Peter Daut who also makes a brief cameo in the video.

"It was great! Their reaction, the kids we got on that was hilarious. We saved it for the last reaction of the video. So, of course, they get to the porch, right? They see you on TV and then footage of them stealing which just happened literally 30 seconds ago, and they're literally covering their mouth, and this one kid's like 'I need to go home and tell my dad!'" Rober said.

"Hopefully these kids learn their lesson," Peter said.

Rober, "Yeah, we'll see. I anticipate next year there's going to be kids a little more wary after this video gets a bunch of views. Some of these porch setups that's for sure."
