WASHINGTON (AP) — President Joe Biden is gathering leaders from 10 other countries across the Americas in the U.S. capital to discuss the tightening of supply chains and address migration issues. White House National Security Council spokesman John Kirby says the two-day event will be a “once in a generation opportunity” to shift more of the global supply chains to the Western Hemisphere. Along with Biden, attending the event on Friday are leaders from Canada, Mexico, Chile, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Peru, Uruguay and Panama. Kirby says the summit will involve the “shared migration challenge” and the building of “meaningful economic opportunity” in the region.
