Incoming systems to bring wind and cooler temperatures
A Pacific storm system will be moving through California this week. As it does, onshore flow will increase in Southern California. Some cooler air will also be funneled into SoCal. This will serve to lower daily high temperatures, and increase shower chances for the remainder of the week.
The extra onshore flow will lead to some breezy conditions across the valley throughout the day on Wednesday. The more usual, wind-prone areas like the pass and the I-10 corridor will see the strongest gusts, potentially exceeding 30mph.
There remains a small chance for showers for the Coachella Valley on Wednesday evening. However, snow levels will fall, leading to a chance for snow in elevations above 6,000 feet.
It's a similar story for Thursday. Some stray showers may make it into the desert, however, most precipitation will fall in areas to our west.
Temperatures will remain mild this week. The Pacific system will increase winds on Wednesday and will lower temperatures for the second half of the work week. A warm-up is expected for next week, as some potentially above average temperatures return to Southern California.
