Mild and breezy conditions today
A trough of low pressure that is bringing showers to Northern California is pushing more cloud cover into SoCal today. Still, mostly sunny skies and dry conditions will prevail locally.
Stronger winds are expected to continue through this afternoon due to this shifting low pressure system. Winds will remain breezy, with gusts up to 20 MPH, for most of the Coachella Valley. Areas near the I-10 corridor, like Desert Hot Springs, the High Desert, San Gorgonio Pass near Banning and local mountain communities could see wind speeds between 30-40 MPH with peak gusts near 55 MPH.
A Wind Advisory is in effect for San Bernardino County mountains, the San Gorgonio Pass near Banning and Apple and Lucerne Valleys until 3 p.m. Sunday due to these windier conditions.
Calmer and warmer weather is expected for the start of the work week. Daytime high temperatures will reach to low to mid 70s with overnight lows in the 50s through the week.
