Highs Hold Near 100° Across the Coachella Valley

High pressure will continue strengthening over SoCal, keeping our Coachella Valley slightly warmer than normal through the rest of the week and even into the next. Highs climb from around 100 degrees today then remain remarkably consistent near the century mark through the weekend and much of next week.

While this will be a long-duration heat wave for communities closer to the coast and west of the mountains, the low desert should avoid the more extreme temperature departures, with highs generally only about 2–5 degrees above our seasonal average of 97.

Drier air remains in place, with comfortable dew points in the upper 30s and lower 40s.

Gusty afternoon and evening winds are still possible near the San Gorgonio Pass and along the I-10 corridor through Thursday, but winds should gradually ease. We could see a bit more of a difference, 5-10 degrees warmer than normal by mid next week.
