SCE shares safety tips ahead of Monday’s wet weather

SCE is sending out a reminder about safety during a storm.

It says loose debris caused by rain may result in unexpected outages.

Officials encourage their customers to stay prepared by doing things like keeping a flashlight handy, and keeping your cell phone fully charged.

Other outage safety tips include:

  • Staying away from power lines. Downed wires can electrify puddles, wet grass and the surrounding area.
  • If you see a downed wire stay at least 100 feet away and always call 9-1-1.
  • Keep spare batteries for an emergency.
  • Use a portable charger for your devices.
  • Make sure you have a battery operated radio.
