Joshua Tree resident arrested in connection with hit-and-run crash in Palm Springs

A Joshua Tree resident was arrested Tuesday evening following a hit-and-run crash in the city of Palm Springs.

The crash happened at around 7:35 p.m. on the 400 block of E. Tahquitz Canyon Way.

Police learned that a vehicle traveling southbound on Calle Encilia struck a pedestrian within the crosswalk, while turning eastbound onto E. Tahquitz Canyon Way.

The victim sustained minor injuries.

Officers were able to locate the suspected vehicle, with collision damage, at the intersection of E. Vista Chino and N. Gene Autry Trail.

The 68-year-old driver was arrested and booked into the Indio jail. They face charges of felony hit and run.
