Correction: Climate-Apartment Heat Pumps story

NEW YORK (AP) — In a story published March 11, 2024, about small heat pumps being tested by the New York City Housing Authority, The Associated Press erroneously reported on inefficiencies from centralized steam boilers including heat lost through old and leaky ductwork. The systems carry the heat via pipes, not ducts. The story also should have made clear that the authority’s plan to eventually install more than 4,000 heat pumps depending on the pilot is specific to the Woodside development.
