N. Indian Canyon at the wash closes Saturday afternoon

There was a traffic alert for drivers headed in and out of the Palm Springs area on Saturday evening.

The Palm Springs Police Department announced that N. Indian Canyon Drive at the wash was closed due to blowing sand and low visibility.

The other wash roads, including Gene Autry Trail and Vista Chino, were still open; but drivers were asked to use caution in windy areas.

News Channel 3's weather team called a First Alert Weather Alert for most of the weekend.
