N. Indian Canyon Drive closed through Whitewater Wash due to winds and sand

[Update: Saturday 1:19 p.m.]: Gene Autry Trail has reopened at the wash.

[Update: Saturday 9:21 a.m.]: E. Vista Chino has reopened.

North Gene Autry Trail was closed early Thursday morning due to poor visibility from blowing sand.

The roadway was closed between Salvia Road to Via Escuela, according to Palm Springs Police at 5:00 a.m.

North Indian Canyon Drive was closed through the Whitewater Wash Tuesday morning due to high winds and low visibility.

The roadway was closed between Sunrise Parkway and Garnet Avenue due to sand build-up in the roadway, according to Palm Springs Police at 6:07 a.m.

Thursday evening, E Vista Chino was shut down through the wash from Clubhouse View to the city limits.

Other alternate routes include Ramon Road, Dinah Shore Drive, and State Highway 111.
