Thursday 2/13 – Playoff girls basketball, soccer and water polo highlights and scores

Thursday was another busy night of high school sports with playoff girls basketball, soccer and water polo.

In girls basketball, five of the seven teams are advancing to the 2nd round in their respective division. Xavier Prep, La Quinta, Shadow Hills, Yucca Valley and 29 Palms all earned first round victories.

As for girls soccer, desert teams went 3-3 in the first round. Shadow Hills, Cathedral City and Coachella Valley all advance to the 2nd round.

Lastly in girls water polo, Palm Desert lost in their 2nd round game on Thursday. The Aztecs fell to West Torrance, ending their season.

Rancho Mirage is the only local girls water polo team still standing in the playoffs.
