Tuesday 2/18 – Quarterfinal basketball and soccer highlights, scores

The CIF-SS playoffs continued Tuesday night with boys basketball and soccer.

We had a handful of area teams in action as three of the four earned wins to move on to the semifinal in their respective division.

In boys basketball, Palm Springs lost to Oxnard 61-54 in overtime in the 2A quarterfinal. Meanwhile, Shadow Hills defeated Simi Valley 60-54 in 3A and Cathedral City rolled Vasquez 80-66 in 5A.

The Knights and Lions are the only two boys basketball teams remaining from the local area. Their respective semifinal games are Friday and both are at home.

As for soccer, DHS defeated Palmdale in penalty kicks. The Golden Eagles advance to the semifinal in D5 and are the lone boys soccer team still standing from our local area.
