4.9 Magnitude Barstow quake rattles Coachella Valley
A 4.9 Magnitude earthquake was reported near Barstow at just after 1:00 p.m. Monday, according to the USGS.
The quake was first reported as a 5.1 Magnitude quake and there were several aftershocks, some registering larger than 3.0 also reported. There were no reports of damage or injuries.
According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the initial rumble struck just after 1 p.m. It was centered about 13.6 miles east northeast of Barstow and was at a depth of seven kilometers.
