Margaritaville Palm Springs could rebrand as historic Riviera Resort once again

The historic Riviera Resort brand is expected to soon make its return to Palm Springs.

The Margaritaville Hotel and Resort in Palm Springs is expected to rebrand as The Riviera Hotel in late September.

Management Changes

Steven Grant, Margaritaville Resort Director of Sales and Marketing, said Apollo currently owns the hotel.

“They’re the real estate group that owns the building," Grant said. "Its asset managed by Tamarack. They’re the ones who have put the property up for sale."

He said the company looking to acquire is called Welcome Group based out of El Segundo.

Staffing

Grant said the resort's ownership change is currently scheduled for September 27.

He said if the deal goes through — current workers will remain in their position.

"The staffing of the hotel will be essentially the same," Grant said. "The only real change that anybody would notice is that anything that's specific to Margaritaville will have been removed."

Future Reservations

Anyone who has a current existing reservation will be contacted said Grant.

"They'll be given the opportunity to cancel if they would like," Grant said. "But we're assuming that most people are coming to enjoy Palm Springs and to enjoy the resort as it is, regardless of what name is on the building."

Signage

The original Riviera sign no longer exists according to Grant.

"We are going to recreate the sign as it was before," Grant said. "With stainless steel and the star."
