The father and stepmother of a 10-year-old girl are convicted of her murder in England

LONDON (AP) — The father and stepmother of a 10-year-old girl found dead in her home in England were found guilty Wednesday of her murder after what prosecutors called a “campaign of abuse.” They along with an uncle will be sentenced Tuesday in the killing last year of Sara Sharif. Police found her body under a blanket in a bed with dozens of injuries including extensive bruising, burns and fractures. The three adults fled to Pakistan but were found and sent to the U.K. for their arrest. Her father reportedly called U.K. police from Pakistan to say he had “legally punished her, and she died.”
