A Palm Springs rehab center relocates unveiling new expansion
A celebration for Ken Seeley Rehab Center as they open their doors to a new location on Tahquitz Canyon Way in Palm Springs.
Councilmember, Dennis Woods paying tribute for the resources the center offers.
“Well part of any community is having a healthy community and having the tools that are necessary to keep our community healthy,” said Woods. “Addiction is a problem and having a service where people can come to talk about addiction and have guidance to heal that addiction I think its incredibly important.”
Ken Seeley, founder of Ken Seeley Rehab Center, takes us around the center as he gives us an exclusive tour of the space and new additions.
“This room is so important because its where alot of healing happens as you can see trauma eggs around here,” said Seeley. “It starts at a very young age.”
Seeley said drawing a “trauma egg” can show the different patterns those battling with trauma create when protecting themselves.
Seeley showed us his trauma egg he did four years ago.
“Now it gets a relief and empowerment,” said Seeley.
Seeley said in 2019 they have helped about 130 people recover and this year, they have added a new community room.
“You can have 12 step meetings here, you can have smart recovery here, you can have all kinds of recovery activities,” said Seeley.
Plus, a special guest David Arquette, actor, teaching a Bob Ross art class.
“Art and creativity is really great for just the human spirit in general,” said Arquette.
Seeley has one more thing the community center will now offer.
“We also have CCAP, where you get a California credential if you want to become a therapist on Saturday and Sunday,” said Seeley. “You can come here and get the training to become a therapist in California.”
