PALM DESERT, Calif. (KESQ) - The Coachella Valley Firebirds hockey team will host its annual "Military Appreciation Night'' to honor the nation's service members Tuesday at Acrisure Arena in Palm Desert.

It will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at 75702 Varner Road.

In partnership with the Twenty-Nine Palms Band of Mission Indians and presented by Spotlight 29 Casino, the fourth annual event will commemorate the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Marine Corps.

"The Tribe is proud to stand with our community in honoring those who serve,'' Chairman Darrell Mike of the Twenty-Nine Palms Band of Mission Indian said.

The event will feature giveaways, recognize service members and pre-game activities, including sharing messages of appreciation to active-duty service members and veterans on a banner provided by Spotlight 29 Casino. Additionally, the Marine Corps tradition of a cake cutting ceremony will take place at 5:30 p.m., featuring the oldest and youngest Marines in attendance.

The first 7,500 guests in attendance will receive a military-themed bucket hat, officials said.

"We are fortunate to have so many military families, members and veterans in our local community and are honored to be able to tell their stories throughout the season at Firebirds games, but even more so during our Military Night events,'' said John Page, senior vice president, Oak View Group,
the Firebirds and Acrisure Arena.
