Fall weather on tap all week long; next round of rain possible by Monday

THOUSAND PALMS, Calif. (KESQ) – After a soggy Saturday, conditions have been absolutely gorgeous in the Coachella Valley on Sunday! We've had more sunshine today, as well as mountain snow atop the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway! Here's a look from our Long Valley Camera – we've already seen folks throwing snowballs with the fresh powder!

Doppler radar shows most of the activity has been sporadic and well to the west of the valley.

Some slight rain chances linger tonight, but it's far less likely than what we saw yesterday. If anything, we may see a few stray sprinkles overnight.

Early Monday is expected to be dry, but the next round of rain could be coming. By Monday afternoon, a separate system will start pushing into Southern California. By Monday evening, rain chances return for our desert cities, but this system is expected to be weaker than the first. More mountain snow is possible, though!

We should warm into the low 70s on Monday. The average temperature remains in the upper 70s, so we'll be feeling cooler than normal... personally, a welcome change compared to the last few weeks of warmer than usual weather!

The second system moving into SoCal will bring much cooler air our way, so our temperatures should drop back into the 60s by Tuesday. That system clears out by early Wednesday – expect drier weather by then. We're monitoring increasing chances for a third round of precipitation Thursday/Friday ... though the timing and strength of this activity remains uncertain. Stick with us as we keep an eye on those conditions!
