City of Palm Springs gearing up for holiday activities
PALM SPRINGS, Calif. (KESQ) - December is almost here, and that means a variety of holiday events throughout the valley.
And in Palm Springs, the city is getting ready for a fun-filled season of free activities.
It all kicks off with the annual tree lighting at Frances Stevens Park on Friday December 5th at 4:00 p.m.
The next day, the Festival of Lights Parade will be held in downtown beginning at 5:30 p.m.
Then on Sunday, December 7th, people can take photos with Santa from noon until 2:00 p.m. at the Downtown Park near the Marilyn statue.
But there's also a lot more throughout the month, including a toy giveaway.
City of Palm Springs Community Center Manager Jarvis Crawford says, "It's important, for one, just to show that we are a true community. Not just community by name, but that we do great programs and events together for everybody to take advantage of."
News Channel 3's Peter Daut spoke with Crawford to get more on what the city is planning for the holidays.
