Rain chances decrease overnight; clearer and warmer weather on the way!

THOUSAND PALMS, Calif. (KESQ) – It's been an overcast day in the desert. We experienced some rainfall overnight and into this morning, with some sporadic showers into the afternoon.

The cloudy skies and added rainfall kept our daytime high at 68° today. Officially, Palm Springs recorded 0.06 inches of rain today, with light rain totals across the Coachella Valley in the past 24 hours – most spots recorded less than two tenths of an inch in the valley.

Tonight, there are still some slight chances for scattered showers through midnight. Here's a look at our FutureTrack models at 11:00 p.m.

As we work our way through Sunday, though, expect fewer clouds and much more sunshine.

The extra sunshine should help us warm up further. Highs should be well into the 70s, near (if not slightly above) seasonal normal, which is 75° for tomorrow's date.

We continue to warm up early next week. Highs approach enter the upper 70s, and potentially the low 80s by Thanksgiving Day. Expect plenty of sunshine and a gorgeous forecast as we celebrate Turkey Day!
