Firebirds fall 5-3 to Stars in first meeting this season

THOUSAND PALMS, Calif. (KESQ) - The Coachella Valley Firebirds lost to the Texas Stars 5-3 on Saturday at Acrisure Arena.

The Stars scored four straight goals from Harrison Scott, Artem Shlaine, and Jack Becker to take a 4-0 lead.

The Firebirds responded with three unanswered goals of their own by Ben Meyers, John Hayden, and David Goyette.

With an extra attacker for the birds, Michael Karow ended the comeback hope for Coachella Valley, scoring an empty-netter.

Victor Ostman started in net for CV and saved 20 shots on goal.

Firebirds fall to a 9-6-3 record on the season. Coachella Valley will remain at home and play the Texas Stars on Wednesday, December 3rd. Puck drop will be at 6:30 PM.
