Southern California to warm far above average this week
THOUSAND PALMS, Calif. (KESQ) – We've had some incredible weather in the Coachella Valley over the past week with mild conditions and sunny skies! We'll continue our warming trend this week, with 80s through next weekend.
Monday should bring 80s back to the valley, with low 80s expected for most spots.

By the time Tuesday rolls around, highs will be far above average for much of Southern California – in the range of 10-20° warmer than usual for most spots.

Our FutureTrack temperature outlook still shows those highs well above average, even 6-10 days from now.

Peak heat is expected midweek. There's some potential for records in Palm Springs to be threatened with these significantly warmer than normal temperatures. Expect some periodic Santa Ana winds this week, too, though wind impacts are likely to be minimal in the low deserts. Fire risk in SoCal is expected to be elevated as the winds usher in drier and warmer conditions, too. Subtle cooling is possible into next weekend, but we still expect highs more than 10° above normal by then.
