Five-goal first period powers Firebirds past Wranglers; CV finishes 3-1 on Canadian road trip

COACHELLA VALLEY, Calif. (KESQ) -- The Coachella Valley Firebirds defeated the Calgary Wranglers on Thursday night at the Scotiabank Saddledome by the final score of 7-4.

Tyson Jugnauth recorded two goals and two assists to register the first four-point game of his career and help the Firebirds close out their four-game Canadian road trip with a victory. 

THREE STARS:

3. Aydar Suniev (CGY) – Scored his seventh goal of the season to pull Calgary to a three-goal deficit in the final moments of the first period.

2. John Hayden (CV) – Two assists in the second period to help Coachella Valley extend their lead.

1. Tyson Jugnauth (CV) – Two goals and two assists (all in the first period) to help himself to his first four-point game of his career.

Coachella Valley returns home on Wednesday, Dec. 17 to host the San Jose Barracuda. Game time is at 6:30 p.m.
